The workshop venue

The workshop will be held at the Hotel Mercure in Châteauneuf-le-Rouge at the foothill of the Sainte Victoire Mountain: www.hotelmercureaixsaintevictoire.fr 

The organiser has booked hotel rooms for all participants during the workshop (nights of 3 and 4 December). Please note that the workshop will start at lunchtime (noon) on 3 December and finalise about 5pm on 5 December. 

For those arriving earlier or leaving after, a lot of hotels exist in the central city of Aix-en-Provence. Please check the list of hotels proposed by the meeting organiser. For further information please visit Tourism information center of Aix en Provence

Travelling to the workshop venue

Bus (line 160) runs from Aix-en-Provence central city to the workshop place (“Châteauneuf-le-Rouge, La Gavotte”; about 20 min). The number of bus is limited (download bus timetable Bus 160 timetable). The bus departs from Aix-en-Provence coach bus station ("Gare routiere", in French) from platform number 4. You can buy a ticket (1.20€) on the bus but the bus driver may refuse a big bill. It is better to prepare small change.

The workshop place is between the bus stops “La Tuilerie” et “La Gavotte” just after “Châteauneuf-le-Rouge-Le Village”. The closest one is “La Gavotte” about 300 m of the workshop place on the same road (D7N).  You may ask to the bus driver to stop in front of the hotel if you have a lot of luggage. The hotel panel is visible from the road as shown in the image below.

The nearest airport is Marseille Provence (MRS) and the closest train station is Aix-en-Provence TGV. Shuttles are available at both the airport (https://www.marseille-airport.com/access-car-parks/access/by-train-or-by-bus) and the TGV station  (http://www.aixenprovencetourism.com/en/plan-your-trip/access-transport/by-train/) to Aix-en-Provence city centre.

Please note that taxi from airport to Hotel Mercure would cost you about 100 euros and from Aix-Marseille city-center to the Hotel Mercure about 50 euros.
